The first thing you MUST do to make a tattoo appointment is send an email to trustyourself@trustwatson.com. Keep your message simple: your ideas; location on your body you wish to tattoo; your general location; name & contact info; anything else you feel is important. I will then commence an email dialogue. From there we’ll have a consultation (online if you’re out-of-state/in-person at my private studio if local). With a modest deposit I will pencil in your appointment(s) - small projects may be a session or two, while larger ones range from a few to a dozen (or more) sessions. Once we consult, secure the deposit, and make appointments, it’s just of matter of waiting. Please be patient with our initial communication, as it may take me a bit to get in touch. I am sometimes hard to reach; this is due to my insatiable work ethic and relentlessly busy schedule. Be assured, once we connect and you’re in the schedule, the whole process will fall into motion. Before long your project will be finished, photographed, and immortalized in my portfolio. Your illuminated transformation will light your path evermore.
All things considered the wait will not be too long. I book my schedule several months out - this includes private studio sessions and my tattoo tours. (I am typically in Portland for two months, on the road one month.) Due to a number of variables, sometimes it’ll be less of a wait, sometimes a little more. If you’re lucky, I do have last minute reschedules/cancellations you can slide into. But usually it is best to make an appointment ahead of time.
Yes. It is a huge misconception that I only do big work. The main focus over my tattoo career has been large format projects, which are represented extensively in my tattoo photo gallery. Conversely though, I have always made time in my schedule for small tattoos. All you have to do is contact me and make an appointment.
Cash or PayPal. No checks. Thanks for understanding.
Yes, I hit the road with all my gear for a tattoo tour a few times a year. I have built a "gypsy” van named the Twine St. Rambler. (For the record, I DO NOT tattoo out of the van, ever! It is a private living quarters on wheels, inspired by the traditional gypsy vardo.) The geographic region I ramble through varies with each tour…the basic itinerary encompasses the eastern United States - Maine to Georgia and other select locales. If you live anywhere I travel and would like to get tattooed by me, have yourself (and a handful of friends) contact me, and I will work you & company into the one of the tours. If you want to start a big project, like a sleeve, I could come back to your hometown a few times to finish it. When I'm not touring you could jet to Maine to show your dedication to finishing the project. We could both travel to each other to help finish the piece in a reasonable time.
If you plan ahead you can make an appointment and purchase a plane ticket at the same time. Most traveling collectors will have a one - or two - day appointment to get done as much as possible. My studio is located in the heart of the Old Port district in downtown Portland, Maine. There are many hotels, restaurants, and cultural interests in every direction. And it is possible, if a project is too large to finish during your visit, for us to meet up elsewhere during my tattoo jaunts down the coast.
While I occasionally tattoo at conventions and tattoo shops, I am more likely to do private sessions that are more one-on-one and low key. This approach creates a more comfortable and focused experience. After years in highly visible tattoo environments, I have recently retired to a private tattoo studio away from the public eye. I have taken that same exclusive and intimate approach on the road with me.
